RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Designn (CRICOS Course Code: 118217C)

General: This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

Entry Requirement: While there are no entry requirements defined in the training package, the VCEA requires the following criteria to be met.

  • Applicants must be minimum 18 years of age at the time of commencement
  • Successful completion of Australian Equivalent Year 12 and RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design
  • Minimum IELTS score of 6 or PTE score of 52 or Certificate III in EAL or its equivalent

In addition,

  • Applicants must have  computer and MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point)  and all the student has to go through LLN & digital literacy assessment test

Pathways into the qualification:

Individuals may enter RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design with one-year vocational experience with provide design support for professional engineer’s area and completed RII50520 Diploma Civil Construction Design

Vocational or Educational outcomes: After achieving RII60520 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, individuals could progress to higher education.

Course Duration: Full Course: 52 weeks full time including holidays and orientation.
Internal Pathway– Student who has finished or will finish RII50520 Diploma Civil Construction Design at VCEA will have to study only 44 weeks to complete this qualification including holidays.
