RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design (CRICOS Course Code: 118216D)

General: This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

Entry Requirement: While there are no entry requirements defined in the training package, the VCEA requires the following criteria to be met.

  • Applicants must be minimum 18 years of age at the time of commencement
  • Successful completion of Australian Equivalent Year 12 qualification or Certificate IV qualification within the RII Resources and Infrastructure training package or similar qualification or higher
  • Minimum IELTS score of 6 or PTE score of 52 or Certificate III in EAL or its equivalent

In addition,

  • Applicants must have  computer and MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point)  and all the student has to go through LLN & digital literacy assessment test

Pathways into the qualification: Individuals may enter RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design with one-year vocational experience with provide design support for professional engineer’s area or completed RII40820 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design.

Vocational or Educational outcomes: After achieving RII50520-Diploma of Civil Construction Design, individuals could progress to RII60520 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design or other Advanced Diploma courses within RII training package.
